Avocado 2 (to the ones
that do not matter)
By Khabazela Mkhize

I sat with myself
Under a sleeping sky
And he spoke of a time
When love was forgotten...

"When we forgot about love
We learned it was just
A four letter'd word, that
It was everything we expected
Nothing new under our lonely sun
Learned we should not fight
For what we already have
Cause every second that ticks
Brings us closer to lovely life
When we will gasp wide lip
Have fun
Color every moment in our
Most prized shade
When we forgot about love
We forgot about death, forgot
About the ones that did not matter
We realised we could bite off
More than our paining hearts
Could swallow
That to be strong we
Need not be shallow
To be useful we need
To know ourselves,
forget about basic love

When we forgot
We learned to understand
Noticed the peach petal blossom
Into an acidic pink
Learned to listen inside silently
For the child missing swing
We chased balls of laugther
Down powder hills, we forgot
And rememberd that locked up
Inside is the real truth
About love
We got to fly on
Mistlike wings
Till the chiiled air blew
The stink of love off our heavy skins
We learned beauty can not
Be put into dead words
We forgot about empty love
And we got to live
Live like our mind depended
On the vary moment"

I sat with me and
We rememberd to forget.
